Huzhou University

Huzhou University is a comprehensive full-time undergraduate university, and has a long history. It began by offering higher education in 1958, and became a university for undergraduate students in 1999. In November 2005, the university passed the Assessment of Undergraduate Education by Ministry of the State with excellent scores.

The University is located in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, which borders Shanghai to the East,Hangzhou to the South, Wuxi and Suzhou to the Northeast and Nanjing to the Northwest. Huzhou is the only city named after Taihu Lake.

Huzhou has very convenient transportation and obvious locational advantages. It is an important and open city situated in the center of Yangtze River Delta, Huzhou has long served as the transportation hub for Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing.. The traffic is very convenient in Huzhou. It owns 4 nation’s first-class highways, and several railways. It only take 20 minutes to arrive at provincial capital Hangzhou.

The University is located amidst Huzhou’s beautiful scenery, and major metropolises nearby are easily accessible. It has three campuses. It occupies 111 acres of land, and a green space covering 220,00 square meters. The campus is pleasant and beautiful all year around.

The University is currently organized into thirteen schools and one Independent School. The Independent School, Qiuzhen School is a full-time school within the University. The schools currently offer 52 bachelor degree programs and associate degree programs covering eleven disciplines including literature, science, engineering, education and economics.

The University currently has over 18,000 full-time students in attendance, with more than 4,000 students enrolled in continuing education. At present it has more than 1200 faculty members, including over 720 full-time instructors, 113 professors and over 238 associate professors.

In addition to attracting talented, highly qualified educators, the University has 450,000 square meters of teaching and dormitory buildings and has invested more than 150 million RMB on educational facilities and equipment. The newly expanded library, for example, now covers an area of 30,000 square meters and contains more than 170 million books and over 2000 domestic and foreign periodicals. 

The International college of Huzhou University has enrolled hundreds of students from The United States, UK，Russia, France, Ukraine, Korea, Philippine, Yemen, Bangladesh, Mali and other countries since 2002. After years of construction, Huzhou University has gathered an experienced Chinese language teaching staff who approach language both as a science and an art. Our teaching model boasts small class sizes, professional teachers, quantifiable results, and interesting cultural activities.

Classrooms for foreign students offer a state of the art multimedia experience, and our foreign student dormitories are comfortable and convenient. There is a clinic, several stores, laundry facilities, a western-style restaurant, and several student canteens on campus. For those who are sports fans, you can use the open courts for football, basketball, volleyball and tennis. The University also offers gyms for badminton, table tennis, and various other athletic training. All majors of our school are open to international students.

Our University provide Undergraduate courses, Chinese preparatory courses, and short -term study courses for cultural communication.
